Invitation to bid for Door Replacement Project,

Atchison County Courthouse, Atchison, Kansas

Sealed bids for a Door Replacement Project at the Atchison County Courthouse will be received at the Atchison County Clerk’s Office, 423 North 5th Street, Atchison, Kansas, until 1:30 pm, on or before Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Be advised that no FAX bids will be accepted.  A pre-bid meeting will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at the Office of the County Commission (same as Clerk’s address above); attendance is not prerequisite to bid, but is strongly encouraged. 

All equipment, materials and workmanship must be in accordance with the Contract Documents available for public inspection at the Offices of the Atchison County Clerk’s Office, 423 North 5th Street, Atchison, Kansas, Telephone No. 913-804-6030, and in the office of the Architect, River Bluff Architects, 1214 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph, Missouri, Telephone No. 816-232-7248.  Copies of the contract documents for bidding purposes may be obtained at contractor expense from Callaway Detailing, 1116 Frederick Ave., St. Joseph, Missouri, Telephone No. 816-676-0780.  Prospective bidders must contact River Bluff Architects to be added to the Bidders List. 

A certified check on a solvent bank or a bid bond by a satisfactory surety in an amount equal to 5% (five percent) of the total amount of the bid must accompany each proposal as bid security.  No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 30 days after the date of opening bids.  Bidders must submit offers on the Bid form provided and may supplement this form as appropriate.  The Contractor shall furnish performance and payment bonds for the full amount of the contract and shall include the cost of the bonds in the bid.

Federal and State of Kansas Taxes are to be excluded from the bid sum.

THE OWNER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REJECT ANY OR ALL BIDS.  THE OWNER FURTHER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO WAIVE ANY IRREGULARITIES IN ANY OR ALL BIDS, AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO DETERMINE WHICH IS THE MOST RESPONSIVE, RESPONSIBLE BIDDER AND TO REJECT OR APPROVE THE BOND.
